8 Things You Didn't Know About Hands

1.)Your hand has 28 bones(including the wrist, also known as a metacarpal), 1/2 of which are phalanges, or fingers
2.) A Thumb can be rotated easily at a 90 degree angle or more, compared to the 45 degree angle of the rest of your fingers.
3.)The acting muscles in a hand can be divided into 2 groups;
    *Extrinsic
    *Intrinsic
4.)There a 6 "grades" that determine strenght of hand muscles;

                
   
Grade 5: Full active range of motion & Normal muscle resistance
Grade 4: Full active range of motion & Reduced muscle resistance
Grade 3: Full active range of motion & No muscle resistance
Grade 2: Reduced active range of motion & No muscle resistance
Grade 1: No active range of motion & Palpable muscle contraction only
Grade 0: No active range of motion & No palpable muscle contraction

5.)Hand-Eye Coordinatation includes;
    *tea making
    *moving solid objects, for example rocks, wooden blocks, books, etc.
    *sports
    *music reading
    *computer games, video games
6.)Fingernails are made of keratin, a tough protein that is also found in animal hooves and horns
7.)A fingernail's basic anatomy includes;
   *Nail Plate-the pink part and the white that grows at the tips, it is made of a keratin protein made of amino acids.
   *Nail Groove-where the nail ends and where the skin begins on the sides and top of the nail
